About Photon Resources

Photon Resources is the international home of the Photon Guidebooks, a series of e-books for IB Diploma Maths and Physics, and of the free study tools we are building around them.

Why the books exist

Most students who lose marks in IB maths and physics do not lack the content. They lose marks because they misread what a question wants, stop one line short of a full answer, or never practised the kind of question that appears at the end of the paper. The guidebooks are written to close that gap: each chapter starts from how its topic is examined and finishes with practice at full exam standard.

How we write them

  • We count and classify the questions set on each topic since 2021, and teach the types that carry the most marks.
  • Every question and worked solution is our own. We describe the exam format and use the command terms and topic names as any teacher would, but we never reproduce IB papers, markschemes, subject guides or data booklets.
  • Worked solutions show where each method and accuracy mark is earned, so students learn what a complete answer looks like.
  • The books are revised every year. The current books are the 2026 Edition.
